Current Dean

Since July, 1999, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts has been Shirley Clay Scott.

Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Dean of the College are

• Academic leadership of the College;
• Advocacy for the College with the University administration;
• Budgetary and fiscal management of the College;
• Governance of the academic programs of the College;
• Governance of personnel administration in the College;
• Leadership in encouraging excellence in teaching, research and creative activities, and service; and
• Substantial interaction with and advocacy for students.
