Anita Hutton began her position as Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention for the College of Liberal Arts in December, 1996. Anita has been affiliated with Southern Illinois University Carbondale since the fall, 1979, in a variety of positions including Graduate Assistant (School of Music), Visiting Instructor (School of Music), Advisement Secretary (former College of Human Resources), Academic Advisor (College of Human Resources and College of Education), and Assistant Director of Professional Education Experiences (College of Education).

Outside of work, Anita is active musically. She is the organist/pianist for the First United Methodist Church, performs regularly in the community, and accompanies School of Music faculty and students.
